Task force gears up for Black Nazarene feast

Various government agencies are now preparing for the annual Black Nazarene feast next week. Members of Task Force Nazareno have been meeting at a command center in Quiapo Church to discuss their preparations including planning the route of the procession. Fr. Rick Valencia said one of the issues right now is whether the procession should pass through Macarthur bridge since one side of the lane can only carry up to 400 people while the other side will only be able to accommodate light vehicles. About 6,000 personnel including policemen will be deployed to maintain peace and order during the procession. The Manila City government has also suspended classes in all levels on January 9.
