Government has launched a P50-million emergency jobs program that will hire survivors of typhoon "Yolanda" to rebuild ravaged cities. At least 12,600 people in Leyte, Eastern Samar and Western Samar will be paid P260 per day to do reconstruction work for 15 days. Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz said they are doubling the budget to P100 million for another tranche in January. Economists had said rehabilitation and emergency jobs will help temper the impact of the disaster on the economy which economic managers said could take a modest hit. ANC Headlines, November 16, 2013
