MANILA - Actor Baron Geisler admitted that his faith was shaken when he was doing the horror film "Sapi." Directed by Brillante Mendoza, "Sapi" is a story about spirit possession and exorcism. Geisler said he was able to witness a real exorcism. "We are always on call. Like we will go to direk's place at around six in the morning and then at around nine ay biglang may tatawag, 'ok mayroon nang sinasapian,' and we will run to wherever, Cavite or kung saan man sa Manila to experience and shoot the exorcism. "Not only that, we also went to weird places na may kulto with different beliefs, distorted beliefs actually," Geisler said in an interview on "Mornings@ANC" on Friday. According to Geisler, all these experiences made him question his faith at one point. "To tell you the truth, my faith was shaken while doing this film because there are so many beliefs. It has got to me because you will interact with these people and they will explain their ways with so much conviction, and you would really think about all these things. "We also spoke to a guy who talked about aliens and other beings, like engkanto. He even demonstrated it to us, [saying] 'okay gumawa kayo ng circle, put your hands together and feel this.' And we will really feel this weird energy tickling our palms. To me, that was really shocking. Sabi ko there's really something going on here, something weird. "I am a full blown Christian before shooting the film and then siguro that's one of the reasons kung bakit ako nag-backslide, dahil sa nangyari. I was so affected with all these things that I saw," he said. Geisler said, however, that he eventually managed to bounce back. "I just got my stuff together lang and I acknowledged that there's a problem, that I got affected because I play an alcoholic in this film," he said. In "Sapi," Geisler plays the character of a cameraman who worked for different TV networks for documentaries. "One day, Meryll Soriano's character came to me and asked me a favor. She asked me if she can barrow the tape that I shot. So pumayag ako at doon ang daming tinatahak ng istorya. Si Dennis Trillo at ako and si Rubi Ruiz, she's such an intense actress, napakagaling niya rito at siya 'yung sinapian. So sa kanya-kanyang buhay namin ay naapektuhan ang buhay namin habang ginagawa namin yung documentary na to na 'Sapi,'" he said. "Sapi" will hit theaters on November 6.
