Robert Downey Jr. Opens up About His MCU Retirement 'Avengers: Endgame' was the final appearance in the
Marvel Cinematic Universe for Downey Jr.'s Iron Man
and Chris Evans' Captain America. But in a new interview, Tony Stark
himself says it was the right time
for both characters to retire. Robert Downey Jr., via 'Disney twenty-three' Robert Downey Jr., via 'Disney twenty-three' Disney honored Downey Jr. this past weekend at the D23 expo for
his work in helping start the MCU. Marvel Studios is now heading into
"Phase 4," which will center around the introduction of many new characters. The next slate of films include a
'Doctor Strange' sequel and
'Thor: Love and Thunder.'
