For the first time in eight years, Hyundai Motor has reached a provisional agreement with its labor union on wages without workers staging a walkout.
They reached a deal on Tuesday, the last day of bargaining, amid criticism that a strike at this time would affect the brand's image.
Union workers said they postponed a planned strike in order to "focus on overcoming social isolation" by considering uncertain political and economic conditions driven by Japan's export curbs on South Korea.
