Railway workers’ 72-hour strike ends as subway workers in Seoul prepare for second protest

A 72-hour strike by South Korean railway workers that started last Friday ended this morning at 9 AM, Korea time,... just over an hour ago.
The Korea Railway Corporation's labor union staged the strike to demand higher pay and better working conditions after their negotiations with KORAIL collapsed in August.
During the strike, only around 60 to 80 percent of total trains were operating, but now operations are back to almost full capacity.
However, as the railway workers' demands have yet to be settled, the labor union is warning of another much-longer strike in November.
Meanwhile, workers on Seoul's subway lines from 1 to 8 will hold a legal protest for three days starting at midnight Wednesday.
