Tokyo-based NHK and Kyodo News Agency reported that... some 24-hundred Self Defense members,... 80 tanks armored vehicles... as well as aircraft took part in the two-hour drill.
The exercise is said to have focused on checking the defense capability of Japan's land forces.
It came on the same day that South Korea began its bi-annual maritime drills for the defense of Dokdo.
