President Moon Jae-in's chief of staff for policy Kim Sang-jo has reiterated that nothing's been decided about whether to keep sharing military intelligence with Japan under GSOMIA.
Today, in his first panel discussion with the press since he took the post,... Kim said various factors will be taken into account, including the security of Northeast Asia, which centers on cooperation between Seoul, Washington and Tokyo.
However, the government, he said, must also consider whether it's appropriate to extend such a pact with a country that says it cannot trust Korea.
Kim also expects that bilateral relations will depend on cabinet reshuffles in Japan, likely to take place next month,... placing particular importance on the coronation ceremony of the Japanese emperor in October.
