Neil Armstrong's
Family Paid $6 Million
in Wrongful Death Suit The secret settlement was
made by Mercy Health in 2014,
two years after the death
of the famous astronaut. Reports say that Armstrong's
sons believed the post-surgical
care that he received at the
hospital to be incompetent. Armstrong's family
threatened to sue. He had been admitted
to Mercy Health — Fairfield
Hospital because of
suspected heart disease. Documents sent to the
'New York Times' reveal a series
of serious escalating issues after
Armstrong had been admitted. The hospital reportedly defended
the care that Armstrong received,
but the settlement was paid
to avoid legal action. Saturday was the 50th anniversary
of the Apollo 11 landing on the moon,
in which Armstrong became the first
human to set foot on the lunar surface.
