Heat wave alerts in most areas, Jeju under heavy rain advisory

Good morning. Jeju Island is seeing heavy showers with a heavy rain warning in place for parts of Jeju Island. Those of you on Jeju or in southern parts of the country will need an umbrella.

5 to 30 millimeters of rain is in store until this afternoon on Jeju Island so drive with care this morning while southern provinces will see passing showers this afternoon.

Meanwhile, the heat will intensify. Not to mention today is Jungbok, the middle of the hottest part of summer in Korea. To meet the term, a heat wave advisory is in place for much of the peninsula and expect to see temperatures rising nearly 5 degrees higher than Sunday.

Taking a closer look at today's temperatures, most parts are waking up to a warm and humid start to the day.

Daily highs will range from 29 to 34 degrees, drink plenty of water and try to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities during the day.
