How to Set VLC Media Player as Default Video Player on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS?

Install VLC first, if you don't have it installed.

Step 1: Click on Panel at the top right.

Step 2: Click on Settings, and then click on 'Details.'

Step 3: Click on 'Default Applications.'

Step 4: Select the dropdown next to Video, and then click on 'VLC Media Player.' After that, close the settings window.
