The National Security Council says... Japan's export curb on high-tech materials to South Korea is a clear violation of international trade laws.
Chaired by National Security Adviser, Chung Eui-yong,... NSC members concluded that Japan's move had "vengeful intentions,"... and violates WTO norms.
The NSC also decided to explore all diplomatic options to make Tokyo back down,... which includes filing a complaint to the WTO.
Japan recently announced new curbs on the export of key materials to South Korea... used to make semiconductors and display.
On the topic of regional security,... NSC members agreed that the recent meeting between the leaders of the two Koreas and the U.S. was a "historic" event.
They said it marked the start of a new era of peace,... and agreed to continue efforts for more Pyeongyang-Washington dialogue... and the complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
