Good morning. Get ready for a heat wave. Blistering heat is set to bake the peninsula today with heat wave advisories expanding to more areas, including here in Seoul.

Daily highs will hover at 33 degrees Celsius. In fact, almost 200 people have come down with heat-related illnesses so far this summer, so be careful. Parks, playgrounds, construction sites and farms are the most common places for people to get heat stress so limit your outdoor activity if you can.

Along with the heat, strong July sun will beam down boosting UV rays to very high levels, while Jeju will have the highest UV levels today. Take precautions and take it easy during the hottest parts of the day.

The heat is going to intensify even further. Saturday is forecast to be the hottest day of the season with the mercury reaching 34 degrees.
