Good afternoon. I am Lee Jeehyun with the latest weather update, reporting from Cheonggyecheon Stream in downtown Seoul. We are officially in monsoon season so southern parts of the country saw some heavy showers, while here in the capital area we got some sprinkles. Gyeongsang-do Provinces and their surrounding regions saw lingering showers until this morning but those tapered off and it will completely stop raining by this afternoon.

Seoul started out under dark clouds, and today we are looking at a mix of clouds and partial sunshine, with highs in Seoul reaching 31 degrees Celsius, Daegu will have highs nearly 6 degrees higher than yesterday at 30 degrees.

Monsoon showers return this Saturday dropping heavy rain on the southern parts of the country, expect muggy conditions for a while.

We are in monsoon season and could get unexpected showers anytime so make sure you have an umbrella handy.
