This year's monsoon season kicks off, heavy rain south with rain advisory 062619

Good afternoon. The entire country will be hit by monsoon season on the same day, which is a first in 12 years. Korea's monsoon season delivers more than 30 percent of the country's annual rainfall. We are forecast to get a similar amount this year. Seoul will see rain tonight which will linger into Thursday afternoon.

Other regions will see showers into tomorrow as well. Southern coastal regions and are Jeju forecast to see 100 millimeters of torrential rain with a heavy rain alert has been issued for Jeju and parts of south.

Daily highs in most areas will be similar to a couple notches lower than yesterday, while Seoul continues to be hot during the day at 32 degrees.

Seoul will also see temperatures dip a bit with the monsoon rain starting tomorrow, then there's another bout of showers in store for Saturday.
