Almost half of the families in South Korea are supported by two incomes.
According to data from Statistics Korea on Tuesday, double-income families make up forty-six percent of the 12 million households registered with the government.
The number of double-income households has been rising almost continuously since 2013, the only down year being 2017.
The agency attributed the rise to government policies that help people go to work while taking care of their families.
In 38 percent of those double-income households, the breadwinners are in the same profession.
