Traces of Roundup Chemical Found in Over 21 Food Products New tests from the Environmental Working Group says 17 of them have levels of glyphosate above the child safety level. The food items are mainly from General Mills with nearly 1/3 of them being different kinds of Cheerios. The rest are related to the Nature Valley brand. The EWG says Honey Nut Cheerios Medley Crunch had the highest level at 833 parts per billion. Cheerios had the second most at 729 parts per billion. These numbers are well above the EWG's child safety limit of 160 parts. Others above the limit include Nature Valley Granola Bars, Sweet and Salty Nut, Cashew. As well as Soft-Baked Oatmeal Squares, Cinnamon Brown Sugar, which are also from Nature Valley. Since glyphosate is sprayed on oats, the EWG recommends that General Mills be more careful about where they get them from. Companies like General Mills and Quaker should use oats from farmers who do not use glyphosate as a desiccant.
