S. Korea's arrival duty-free shops to open on May 31
  • 5 years ago
South Korea's first duty-free shops in the arrival terminals of Incheon International Airport are set to open on Friday.
The stores operated by SM Duty Free and Entas Duty Free will sell alcohol, cosmetics, perfumes and souvenirs... but tobacco products will not be available.
As for why tobacco products won't be sold,... Korea Customs Service said, price differences are too large between ones sold at duty free and ones sold at other stores.
The move is aimed at alleviating the inconvenience for people having to travel with duty-free items that they bought before departing the country.
And these stores are also expected to create hundreds of jobs.
