South Korean soprano Jo Su-mi has received a knighthood from the Italian government.
Jo, one of the world's top coloratura sopranos, was decorated with the order of the Italian Star, and granted a Cavaliere title on Monday for her contributions to fostering bilateral exchanges in the field of opera music.
Ever since Jo went to Italy in 1983,... her superb interpretation of Italian opera has helped lead to greater exchanges in opera music between Italy and Korea.
