The South Korean government will spend around 160 million U.S. dollars to deal with the aftermath of last month's forest fires in Gangwon-do Province.
The decision was reached on Wednesday during a meeting between the ruling Democratic Party, government officials and the presidential office.
Most of the funds will be used for temporary housing,... as well as agricultural machinery.
Some will also be used for forest restoration and to beef up manpower and fire-fighting equipment.
The three sides also noted the need for the National Assembly to quickly pass the government's extra budget bill, which includes another 80 million dollars for fire restoration efforts.
Some 40 million dollars from private donations will also be distributed to the victims.
