Good afternoon. I am Lee Jee-hyun with the latest weather update, reporting from Seoul's famous Seokchon Lake in Songpa-gu District. As many of you know, Seokchon Lake is known for its beautiful cherry blossom, for your reference Seokchon Lake's famous cherry blossom festival will kick off on April 5th this year. About today's weather conditions, a toxic haze is choking much of Korea.

An ultra fine dust advisory was issued a couple of hours ago here in Seoul, while alerts are in place for some southern provinces, the alerts are expected to expand to more areas as the morning goes on... so have a face mask handy.

Thankfully, we have welcome rain on the way, the entire nation will see showers this afternoon starting in the western regions before spreading to the rest of country.

30 to 80 millimeters are expected for southern coastal regions, and up to 60 millimeters for most areas heading into tomorrow morning. There could also be some thunder and lightning at times.

Morning lows kicked off a lot milder than yesterday, but it's still feeling quite chilly. Highs will go as high as yesterday, but on Friday we are expecting another brief cold snap.

Daily highs will get up to 16 to 23 degrees Celsius, Seoul will reach 17 degrees Celsius. Daegu and Gyeongju will be as warm as yesterday, and feel more like mid-April.

Have your face mask handy until that welcome rain arrives and washes away the dust.

That's Korea for you and here's the international weather for viewers around the world.
