Karnataka To Vote In 2 Phases In 2019 Polls, Congress-JDS Seat Sharing Formula Still Not Decided

Amidst announcement of poll dates schedule by the ECI, Congress and JDS are likely to announce seat sharing on friday. At the screening committee meet, Former state CM Siddaramaiah told Rahul Gandhi that give away seats in the old Mysore region would be suicidal. JDS on the other hand, is having second thoughts giving poll tickets to 3rd generation candidates. Hd Deve Gowda is also likely to pick his constituency in the next 2 days. It was expected that Deve Gowda may contest from Tumkur, then it was Bengaluru north & Mysore but now he is not sure. JDS is seeking 10 seats in the coalition, but congress is not willing to give more than 6 to the alliance partner. Karnataka, with 28 constituencies will vote in general elections in two phases. While 14 seats will go to the polls in phase 2 on April 18, the rest 14 will vote in phase 3 on April 23. Voters of Bengaluru will exercise their franchise on April 23 in phase 2.
