Justice Katju questions Karunanidhi about his wealth

Dubbing Press Council of India chairman Justice Markandey Katju as an "embodiment of contradictions" known for his somersaulting views, DMK president M Karunanidhi on Tuesday said his outburst would degrade the higher judiciary.
Two days after Justice Katju's article in which he said the tenure of a "corrupt" Madras high court additional judge was extended at the behest of a Tamil Nadu party which was part of the UPA at the Centre, Karunanidhi raised several questions about the former Supreme Court judge's silence on the issue all these years.
"Assuming his allegations against the former additional judge of the Madras high court and three Chief Justices of India are true, why did Justice Katju not raise them when he was Chief Justice in Chennai or a judge in the Supreme Court," he asked.
