Adding to the list of reluctant senior members who are not willing to fight the upcoming Lok Sabha polls on Congress ticket, Union Minister P Chidambaram opted out of the fray while making way for his son Karthi Chidambaram.

BJP hits out at P Chidambaram for not contesting 2014 Lok Sabha polls
Finance Minister P Chidambaram's decision to opt out of the Lok Sabha polls came under fire on Friday with BJP accusing the FM of 'running away from contesting'. "It shows the mindset of senior Congress leaders. They have no will to fight, they have conceded defeat," said Nirmala Sitharaman of BJP.

Mocking Chidambaram, Sitharaman added, "It's symbolic that the Finance Minister is running away, he is not will to face the public."
