Lok Sabha polls: No end to BJP's ticket woes
  • 5 years ago
The BJP is all set to announce candidates for the Delhi Lok Sabha seats on March 13. However, the party is planning to nominate outsiders in Delhi, leaving the local contenders disgruntled. The BJP will hold a meeting of its central election committee and the parliamentary board on March 13 to finalise the names of the candidates.

Names of Subramanian Swamy, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Vani Tripathi, Udit Raj, Dr Anil Jain and Navjot Singh Sidhu are doing rounds as possible BJP candidates from seven Delhi seats. Locals BJP leaders, however, assert that if non-Delhiites are nominated the chances of BJP sweep will be hampered. "We have invested our blood and sweat for the welfare of our areas, and now if we are denied tickets the voters would not be able to connect with the outsiders," a BJP leader said, on the condition of anonymity.
