Racing to file its supplementary chargesheet in the Ishrat Jahan "fake" encounter case shortly, the CBI on Saturday questioned Amit Shah, a close aide of BJP's prime ministerial candidate, Narendra Modi.

Sources in the CBI, which plans to file the supplementary chargesheet in the politically-fraught case by October 20, said that Shah, who served as the home minister in Modi-led BJP government in Gujarat, was questioned about the kind of dealings he had with police officers accused of carrying out extra-judicial killings against the backdrop of the claims of jailed Gujarat police officer DG Vanzara
