News X : CBI to present its case on Autonomy today

NewsX: Supreme Court all set to examine the status report filed by the CBI on the coal scam today. The top court will also consider the Centre's affidavit on CBI autonomy, a directive issued by the court last month after revelations.
The government has filed its 41-page affidavit on the autonomy of the CBI in the Supreme Court. The affidavit says that a collegium headed by the Prime Minister and consisting the Chief Justice of India and the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha will be responsible for the appointment and removal of the CBI Director.
