Delhi's rape horror: Man inserts iron rod in girl's throat

The echoes of the brutality against 'Damini' on the roads of the capital have hardly died down... and another shockingly similar incident unfolds in the city. Less than 2 months after that nightmare turned inhumanly real... an attempted rape and the brutality that followed in South Delhi's Lajpat Nagar area has sent out shockwaves. On Monday evening a cable operator claiming to be collecting the monthly fee forced his way into a house in a slum colony in Sriniwaspuri and tried to force himself on the woman who was alone at home at the time. When she raised an alarm this monster picked up a rod and rammed it down her throat. It was only after he escaped that neighbours rushed in and took the 22 year old victim to hospital. Police nabbed the culprit on Tuesday morning.
