About 40 per cent of Gujarat's voters have shown up at booths to elect their next Chief Minister and 87 Assembly seats in the state's first phase of voting. The fate of political big-wigs like Gujarat Parivarthan Party leader Keshubhai Patel, BJP R C Faldu and Congress' Arjun Modhwadia are being decided as we speak. All eyes are also on Saurashtra region, it's the stronghold of BJP rebel Keshubhai Patel and the BJP's performance there may suffer.
