The government's attempts to fastrack its flagship Direct Cash Transfer scheme or DCT to benefit the poor of the country has run into rough weather. The PMO's directive to the concerned ministries to quickly operationalise the scheme has been opposed by the BJP with the saffron party complaining to the Election Commission that this was a direct violation of the code of conduct before the Gujarat polls. All eyes are now on the stand of Election Commission on the matter.
