After politicians from the Congress and the NDA, its now a minister from the DMK who is in the dock for his alleged involvement in the coalgate scam. Union Minister of State for information and broadcasting Jagathrakshakan and his family are facing the heat for their alleged involvement in a company that was awarded a coal block in 2007 despite the fact that it had no track record in the sector. Interestingly, the company in question reportedly formed a joint venture with a public sector company, Puducherry Industrial Promotion Development and Investment Corporation (PIPDIC), on January 17, 2007, just five days before coal block allocations.
