Salman Khurshid's Nainital Home Targeted Over 'Hindutva' Comment In His Book

Veteran Congress leader Salman Khurshid’s residence in Nainital was attacked on November 15. The house was vandalised and set on fire. This comes days after a part in Khurshid’s new book on Ayodhya led to a controversy. Khurshid's book is titled ''Sunrise Over Ayodhya: Nationhood In Our Times.” While sharing the footage of vandalisation at his residence, Khurshid said, “Am I still wrong to say this cannot be Hinduism?\" Neelesh Anand, DIG (Kumaon) told ANI that a case has been registered against 21 people in connection with the case. Shashi Tharoor, senior Congress leader slammed the attackers. AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi tweeted, “Absolutely condemnable.” Khurshid faced criticism from the BJP and his own party colleague Ghulam Nabi Azad for his comments in the book.
