Shantiniketan row: Agnivesh defends hostel warden - NewsX

Social Activist Swami Agnivesh is in the middle of fresh controversy. Agnivesh has come out in defense of Visva Bharti University hostel warden who had allegedly forced a 10 year old girl to drink her urine as a punishment for bed-wetting. In a statement last evening Agnivesh said, "She was asked to do it, she was told to do it. She was not literally forced. Her hands were not tied, and it was not poured into her mouth" But as the condemnation poured in, Swami justified his statement saying he had a bed wetting problem well into adulthood and had used the traditional cure while he was in prison when emergency was imposed in India.
