IPL Spot Fixing: BCCI chief N Srinivasan has brushed aside the suggestions that he should resign in the wake of spot-fixing allegations against his son-in-law and his IPL franchise CSK's team principal Gurunath Meiyappan, who was arrested by Mumbai police on May 24.

Talking to the media persons in Mumbai on Wednesday Srinivasan said that he would not react to any individual member seeking my resignation.

When asked to comment on Rajeev Shukla and Arun Jaitley's 'advise' to resign, he said: "Rajeev Shukla has only reiterated what I had said on Sunday that I will keep away from inquiry process."

Earlier in the day, the pressure on BCCI chief Ministry N Srinivasan to resign seemed to have kept mounting as the Ministry of Sports asked him to step down on moral grounds.

"As there is a conflict of interest, Srinivasan should tender his resignation on moral grounds, pending the outcome of the inquiry," the Sports Ministry said in a press release.

"The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports is in favour of a law to curb malpractices in all sports. It will send its comments on the bill drafted by the Law Ministry, and is looking forward to working with the Law Ministry and other stakeholders for the development of a comprehensive law against match and spot-fixing," the statement read.
