Trump Now Says He'll Build A 'Human Wall If Necessary' To Stop Migrants At Border

President Trump on Tuesday posted another tweet on border security.

President Trump on Tuesday said he'll build a "human wall if necessary" to stop migrants at the border. "Tremendous numbers of people are coming up through Mexico in the hopes of flooding our Southern Border. We have sent additional military," Trump tweeted. "We will build a Human Wall if necessary. If we had a real Wall, this would be a non-event!"
The message comes as Trump's border wall options appear to be diminishing. He has apparently ruled out compromising with Congressional Democrats, instead, raising the possibility that he'll get his wall by declaring a national emergency.  According to the New York Times, that option is not looking good.  "Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the majority leader, reportedly warned Mr. Trump that declaring a national emergency to build his wall would almost certainly spark a rebellion within his party — and a vote to overrule him," the publication notes. The concerns for some are the constitutional problems and the precedent such a move would create.  CNN reports that Senator John Cornyn, a Republican from Texas, commented: "The whole idea that presidents -- whether it's President Trump, President Warren or President Sanders -- can declare an emergency and somehow usurp the separation of powers and get into the business of appropriating money for specific projects without Congress being involved, is a serious constitutional question."
