India is one of the top Military spenders in the world. A fact that isn't unknown in 2018, our defence budget was a whopping 2 Lakh 95 thousand Crore that's 12.10% of our total budget. For a country that's spending so much on defence. We've had several success stories. Be it ins vikrant, the countries first largest air craft carried or the ins Arihant, a strategic strike nuclear 'triad' submarine. both indigenously manufactured and yet we continue to struggle too. Several defence projects focussing on local manufacturing still delayed. The question really is what will it take for India to become a top manufacturer of defence systems.
