The U.S. once again reiterated that it will lift sanctions on North Korea only when denuclearization is achieved.... and urged the international community to fully implement them.
The North's state-run media had recently said.... that alleviating sanctions is important in showing Washington's sincerity for the denuclearization negotiations.
VOA reported Monday,.... that to their question on this is... according to a State Department official is that... sanctions relief will follow the North's final, fully, verified denuclearization,.... and reiterated that the sooner North Korea denuclearizes the sooner sanctions can be lifted.
Asked on the North's op-ed that "denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula" includes removing Washington's nuclear threats on it as well,... the official said.... that it is North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's commitment to denuclearization upon which the world is focused.
