S. Korea becomes member state of UN Commission on Int'l Trade Law

South Korea has become a Member State of the UN Commission on International Trade Law, a UN subsidiary that aims to further the harmonization and unification of the international trade law.
According to the country's Permanent Mission to the UN,... on Monday, local time, the General Assembly elected South Korea as a member for a term of six years from 2019 to 2025.
Members serve for six years, but the terms of half the members expire every three years.
The commission was established in 1966 by a General Assembly resolution and comprises five regional groups: Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, Western Europe and Latin American and the Caribbean.
