Two Koreas conduct joint inspection to verify removal of DMZ guard posts

The two Koreas have begun joint inspections this morning,... to verify the removal of 11 front-line guard posts on each side of the Demilitarized Zone.
South Korea's defense ministry announced that.... the South Korean teams first inspected the North Korean guard posts in the morning,... and the North Koreans will visit the South Korean guard posts in the afternoon.
The two Koreas had previously built cross-border foot paths between the 11 pairs of guard posts.
This is the first time in 65 years,... that active-duty soldiers peacefully crossed the Military Demarcation Line,... which divides the two Koreas.
Last month as part of the September inter-Korean military agreement,... the two sides demolished eleven front-line guard posts each, preserving one post each for historical reasons.
