Cold wave alerts in much of S. Korea; morning temps as low as -20 degrees
  • 5 years ago
This weekend Korea has seen its coldest temperatures of the season so far.
For much of the country, it never got above freezing.
Today it's eased up a bit, and cold wave advisories have been lifted in many places.
But they're are still in effect in most of Gangwon-do Province, much of Gyeongsangbuk-do and Chungcheongbuk-do, and areas east of Seoul.
Yesterday in the capital it got down to minus 11 degrees, and with strong winds it felt a lot colder.
The county of Cheorwon measured 20 degrees below zero for two days in a row.
For the week ahead, we're looking at either snow or rain across the country, but not more than a few millimeters.
