Still no exact details on North Korean leader Kim Jong-un visit to Seoul, something he promised during the summit in September.
According to Seoul's unification minister, the two sides are discussing ways to make it happen.
For now Pyeongyang has not given a definite answer.
Oh Jung-hee gets us up to speed with the developments.
Will North Korean leader Kim Jong-un visit South Korea before the year is up?
South Korea's unification minister Cho Myoung-gyon says... Seoul is discussing with Pyeongyang... to have Kim come visit the South this year, as agreed at the inter-Korean summit in September.
The comment came while he spoke in parliament on Friday.
Cho added that Pyeongyang has a clear will to implement the September summit agreement, but the regime has not given a specific answer to the South regarding the visit.
As North Korea-U.S. nuclear negotiations are deadlocked with no high-level or working-level talks between the two sides, there are questions as to whether Kim Jong-un will really visit South Korea as promised.
But after South Korean President Moon Jae-in and U.S. President Donald Trump met on the sidelines of the G20 summit last week, President Moon explicitly told the press that the possibility of Kim's South Korea visit is open -- raising speculation that Kim may actually come.
Various dates are being thrown out on when that visit may happen.
Many are speculating it could be either side of December 17th, the anniversary of Kim Jong-il's death, Kim Jong-un's father.
But considering the lack of time to prepare, more are leaning towards after the 17th.
Seoul says, Kim's visit to South Korea this year will provide momentum to North Korea-U.S. relations and denuclearization talks.
But still, whether it will happen for real is up to Kim.
A Blue House official said... Seoul has not yet received a message from North Korea about Kim Jong-un's reciprocal visit to the South.
Oh Jung-hee, Arirang News.
