Well Mark… Meng Wanzhou, who is also the daughter of Huawei's founder, was arrested in Vancouver at the beginning of this month, but the charges remain unknown.
It is believed her arrest is part of a U.S. Justice Department probe into possible violation of sanctions against Iran.
She could face extradition to the U.S. and a bail hearing has been set for Friday.
The Chinese tech giant released a statement saying it is unaware of any wrongdoing by Meng.
It added that it complies with all laws and regulations where it operates, including international sanctions.
China's foreign ministry demanded Canada release the CFO and explain why she was arrested.

"China has expressed our solemn position to Canada and the US regarding the case. China demands them to immediately clarify the reason for the arrest, release the detainee, and safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of the detainee."

Meng's arrest has sparked fresh doubts on the fate of a 90-day truce in the trade war between the U.S. and China.
The renewed fear that trade tensions could escalate has roiled global stock markets.
U.S., European and Asian stocks all took a hit on Thursday, but Wall Street did manage to recover session lows.
