First baby born from uterus transplanted from dead donor about to celebrate 1st birthday

The world's first baby born using a transplanted uterus from a dead donor... will celebrate her first birthday this month.
According to a Brazil-based medical study released this week,... the baby's mother was born without a uterus due to a genetic condition …and underwent a transplant operation to receive one from a dead donor.
She became pregnant through in-vitro fertilization.... and delivered a healthy baby girl by C-section last December.
The donor was a 45-year-old woman who had three children and died of a stroke.
Until now,.... only uterus transplants from *living donors had led to successful births.
Experts say... using uteruses from deceased donors could make more transplants possible in the future.
