올해 수능 수험생 약 60만 여명 수능 마쳐

It was a big day for college entrance test-takers here in Korea.
For many young students the results could shape the rest of their lives.
Which is why the whole country is making efforts to ensure the big exam goes as smoothly as possible.
Yoon Jung-min has the sights and sound from before during and after the all important event.
It was South Korea's annual College Scholastic Ability Test or 'Suneung' on Thursday, with nearly 600-thousand test-takers, mostly high school seniors, taking the exam at 1-thousand-190 test sites nationwide.
The last exam finished nearly at 6 p.m. and the test-takers' families and juniors flocked to the test sites to see their loved ones.
"It feels like I'm free now. I feel good now that it's over."
"My son sometimes had a hard time while studying. I believe the result will be good."
The test takers took Korean language, mathematics, English, Korean history and more. Some chose to take either social science or natural science.
The exams are considered one of the important tests in South Koreans' lives and they often spend years studying for them. The results will determine which universities some test takers will be going to next year.
Many Koreans believe a college shapes a person's future, so many study hard to get into prestigious schools.
On the day of the Suneung test, the whole country supports the test-takers.
Extra public transportation was put on during morning rush hours which were extended by two hours from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.
People began their work an hour later to reduce morning traffic jams for the test takers, and the police were on stand-by to give free rides for any test takers who need them.
The country's stock markets also opened and closed an hour later.
Traffic was controlled near the test sites, and flights were put on hold in the afternoon for about 30 minutes during the English listening comprehension section to minimize disturbance.
The exam results will be announced in the first week of December.
