인권위원장 “북한인권 외면 안해...북한인권재단 빨리 출범해야”

As inter-Korean cooperation moves forward, the issue of human rights in the North will not be neglected.
That's what the chief of Seoul's human rights commission said Wednesday.
Speaking at a parliamentary audit, Choi Young-ae... told lawmakers that a foundation to address human rights in the reclusive state should be launched as soon as possible.
The foundation in question would conduct research on the status of human rights in the regime and help civic groups improve conditions there.
But its launch has been delayed by partisan differences.
Pyeongyang has been pushing for Seoul to scrap plans for the foundation as well as its law on North Korean human rights which went into effect two years ago.
