Turkey says the Saudi journalist who was murdered in Istanbul was immediately strangled as he entered the Saudi consulate.

Aram… so Turkey has given its first official statement on this case and the details are quite gruesome.

That's right Mark… Istanbul's chief prosecutor Irfan Fidan released a statement on Wednesday, saying Jamal Khashoggi's body was dismembered after he was strangled.
Fidan also claimed the attack was carried out as part of a premeditated plan.
The statement comes after talks between the chief prosecutors of Turkey and Saudi Arabia.
Just hours after the Saudi prosecutor left Istanbul, Fidan said the three days of meetings produced "no concrete results".
Riyadh is yet to comment on the meeting.
Khashoggi was a Washington Post columnist and outspoken critic of the Saudi leadership.
Turkey has suggested Saudi agents murdered Khashoggi under the orders of the ruling royal family.
After many conflicting accounts, Riyadh eventually said the journalist was killed in a botched interrogation and that the royal family was not involved.
So far both sides have not revealed any evidence to back up their claims.
Khashoggi's body, meanwhile, has still not been found.
Saudi Arabia has arrested 18 suspects, who, it says, will be prosecuted in Saudi Arabia.
Turkey wants them to be extradited.
