U.S. President Donald Trump is busy trying to whip up support for his Republican party ahead of the crunch mid-terms,... now less than two weeks away.
He's been touting his success with North Korea as his stumped for candidates in North Carolina and Illinois over the weekend.
Lee Seung-jae reports.
No rest for President Trump over the weekend as he tries to ensure the Republicans maintain control of the House and Senate in the upcoming mid-terms.
Kicking off in North Carolina,... Trump slammed critics who said there had been a lack of progress on North Korea's denuclearization,... saying the two sides are only four months into negotiations to try and end 70 years of conflict.
He added that without him, there would've been a world war.
At another rally in Illinois,... President Trump again reiterated his role in preventing what he said could've been another major war with the North.
He also mentioned fences around the DMZ in Korea,... calling it a "serious wall" with "a lot of electric currents going through it".
President Trump is seemingly unconcerned about having any timeline for the regime's denuclearization,... as long as there's no further nuclear testing by the North.
While North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has previously mentioned January 2021, before the end of President Trump's first term in office as the goal,...
Trump said he does not want to "play the time game",... instructing his Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to avoid setting any timelines.
