한•미방위비분담협의 제8차 회의개최 결과

Another round of defense cost sharing negotiations between South Korea and the U.S. has failed to produce results.
The session held in the nation's capital was originally scheduled to end on Wednesday, but was extended two more days so that they could reach a deal.
The two sides could not close the gap on the key issues: how to split the bill on matters like the total cost of stationing American troops on the peninsula.
Still, the South Korean Defense Ministry said substantial progress was made, based on their mutual discussions on system improvement and technical issues.
The allies are aiming to ink their tenth Special Measures Agreement in November before the 9th SMA, signed in 2014, expires this year.
The next meeting will take place in the U.S.
Details of the meeting will be decided later on through diplomatic channels.
