Indonesian Red Cross Workers Continue to Support Sulawesi Island as Tsunami Death Toll Climbs

Indonesian Red Cross (IRC) workers continued on Wednesday, October 3, to help the survivors of Sulawesi Island’s devastating earthquake and tsunami that hit the region on September 28.These videos show various support activities. The first and second clips show workers assessing the damage and searching for bodies in Petobo, a suburb of Palu. An IRC spokesman tweeted that rescue workers recovered 14 more bodies from the rubble on Wednesday.The third clip shows workers recovering three more bodies from the coastal town of Talise, northeast of Palu.The fourth clip shows IRC workers loading aid for tsunami survivors at their warehouse in Gresik, East Java.The fifth, sixth and seventh clip shows IRC workers treating injured victims in their first aid tent, as well as helping them with hospital forms in Palu.On Wednesday, Indonesia’s disaster management agency raised the death toll to 1,374, with another 113 missing.
