Steve Smith and David Warner return to Australian grade cricket following bans
  • 6 years ago
Former Australia captain Steve Smith and vice-captain David Warner made their returns to competitive cricket in Australia on Saturday (22nd September) for the first time since the ball-tampering scandal that led to the pair being banned in March from playing international and state cricket for 12 months by Cricket Australia.

Smith hit 85 for Sutherland against Mosman in an innings that included six four and one six, but it was not enough to give his side victory as they lost by three wickets

Warner carried his bat to end on 155 not out as Randwick-Petersham beat St George by four wickets at the start of the club cricket season in Sydney.

Opening batsman Warner reached his century off 98 balls in an innings that featured 13 fours and two sixes.
